Autumn Meadowhawk

Another local is building a home in a nearby cove, taking advantage of existing infrastructure.

Sometime between 14:00 and 19:30 today, the butterfly extricated itself.

After three weeks, something’s about to happen.

There were a number of Monarch butterflies on the building site.

Some neighbours came over for a wander.

After a bit of grazing it was time to get them home.

With an occasional shake of a pail of gravel they followed me through the woods to their yard, bleating all the way. It was a bit surreal.
