My retirement goal has been to build a 24′ x 20′ home on a friend’s property. The floor plan coming together, currently at version 2.7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no driveway into the build site, so I’ve been clearing an access. I started with a hand saw, electric grass trimmer and lopper, but have since upgraded to a chain saw and gas powered grass trimmer. There is a bit of a dip in the route so I’ll need to get some help getting it filled in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NB Power has been by to evaluate the site and say that they can bring in an electrical service from the road. Once I clear a 7.3 m wide 90 m path through the scrub at the front of the property, they will start the application process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a foundation, I’ll be using screw piles. A contractor has been in and has provided an estimate. Once the access is finished, they will proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
