Just about every time I pull out a length of lumber from the pile…
During the annual highway cleanup for Lower Queensbury, I spotted what might have been another dead animal in the ditch. On closer inspection, it was a living fawn. This was likely from the doe/fawn pair I’d seen in the area. Not knowing if it might be injured, we contacted DNR. A short time later a ranger came by, determined it was unharmed and said that this was relatively common and ‘mom’ would likely be back later.

Checked back in the evening and it was gone. I’m keeping an eye out for them.

Last night I joined River Valley Cycling on the Hadley trails in Penniac for the last night of their Getting Ready to Ride Series. It was my first mountain bike ride in years and it was awesome.
On the way out we came across this fellow.

The jack-in-the-pulpit on the property has returned. I didn’t know that one could grow them, but here you go: via the Spruce.
