Kaua’i #4

It’s been a busy winter. A break was in order. Something easy.

Plan: Rent bike instead of car. Wander. Take photos with a nice camera. Beach cleanup. Play ukulele. Check out the new meadery.

Expected things: The weather forecast was for rain, just like Vancouver, except 14° warmer. I’ll take that even with the torrential downpours, high winds and flash floods (with all due respect to the locals).

Kaua’i 2011

2011 made for a crappy year in BCs lower mainland. Six weeks of ‘summer’ (per my definition of the term) simply did not cut it. Previously, I had no desire to travel to warmer climes. That was about to change. Flights, a cabin and scooter were booked.

On a Tuesday in December within a couple hours of landing in Lihue, I was wandering barefoot in the sun and sand of a Kaua’i beach.

Trip number one of many to Hawai’i.
